CPM Educational Program (6th-12th)

CPM Mathematics

CPM Educational Program is a mathematics curriculum that was adopted by Paradise Unified School District and implemented in August 2014 for grades 6 through 12.

CPM Offers:

  • Curriculum materials that use problem-based lessons, collaborative student study teams and spaced practice with course concepts.
  • Professional development programs for CPM and non-CPM teachers.
  • More mathematics for more people! 

Curriculum:

Informed by research, their CCSS-aligned curriculum builds upon 25 years of experience writing problem-based, student-centered curriculum embedding the mathematical practices within lessons focused on big ideas and mathematical connections.  Learning strategies and pedagogy are research based.  Included in the textbooks are appendices designed to help teachers and students with standards that might otherwise be missed or require supplementing in the transition to the CCSS grade level standards.  
 
Digital Citizenship (K-9th)

Digital Citizenship (K-9th)

The Paradise Unified School Board adopted a new curriculum (Digital Citizenship-common sense education) for grades K-9 and implementation began with the start of the 2018-19 school year. This curriculum will prepare students to thrive as learners and citizens in the digital age.

Edmentum provides easy-to-use technology that drives online student learning for our K-12 independent study programs as well as for Paradise eLearning Academy students and our summer school students at Paradise High School.
 
 
i-Ready (K-5)

i-Ready (K-5)

i-Ready was implemented in PUSD beginning with the 2016-17 school year. It is an adaptive diagnostic program built for the Common Core. i-Ready combines a valid and reliable growth measure and individualized instruction in a single online product.

A single K–12 adaptive Diagnostic for reading and mathematics pinpoints student needs down to the sub-skill level, and ongoing progress monitoring shows whether students are on track to achieve end-of-year targets.

Mystery Science (TK-5)

Mystery Science (TK-5)

PUSD teachers began using Mystery Science as a supplemental science curriculum during the 2016-17 school year. Mystery Science is a new NGSS-aligned curriculum for elementary teachers that makes it easier than ever to teach hands-on NGSS science. It features open-and-go lessons that inspire students to love science. Each Mystery begins with a question that is explored through engaging video and stimulating discussion questions. Through video-guided hands-on investigations, students solve the Mystery.

The Paradise Unified School District Board and 6th-8th grade teachers adopted new ELA curriculum (StudySync) and implementation began with the start of the 2017-18 school year. StudySync is a comprehensive blended ELA/ELA program that's designed for today's diverse classroom environment, with powerful digital instruction and the option for full print support as well.

Wonders by McGraw Hill Education (K-5)

In April 2019, Paradise Unified School District's Board adopted Wonders by McGraw Hill Education as the new ELA curriculum for K-5 students. The curriculum will be implemented at the start of the 2019-2020 school year at all PUSD elementary schools.
