The HomeTech Charter School is designed for families and students interested in learning at home. The program emphasis is on learning at home utilizing technology as a tool for learning. Enrolled students are loaned computers and software needed for their education.
This program is an alternative to the regular classroom program and is designed to meet the needs of all students, including academically low achieving, limited English proficient, and those with special needs.
With the home and community as their classroom, students work under the guidance of parents and the Home Tech teacher to learn through the power of problem-based learning and technology. Learning will be meaning-centered for the student as they set personal instructional goals based upon their interests. Students will participate in a well-rounded curriculum based upon concepts and goals identified in state frameworks and district curricula.
The overall goal of the program is for students to become competent life-long learners.
