Kindergarten Registration Begins February 22, 2010 at All Paradise U.S.D. Elementary Schools

Kindergarten registration for the 2010-2011 school year begins on Monday, February 22, 2010 at all Paradise USD elementary schools. Children born on or before December 2, 2005 are eligible for enrollment and may be registered at the school in their attendance area. Registration hours are 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Students residing in Stirling City will attend Cedarwood Elementary School in Magalia. Early registration is recommended as spaces at individual schools may be limited.

Parents or legal guardians are required to present the child's birth certificate and proof of immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTP); polio; measles, mumps, rubella (MMR); hepatitis B; and varicella (chicken pox), or proof of chicken pox disease. A pre-kindergarten physical by a physician is also recommended and will satisfy the state's requirement for a physical examination within 18 months prior to entering first grade.

Children entering public school for the first time, in kindergarten or first grade, are to have a dental check-up by a licensed dental professional by May 31st of the first school year. Oral health evaluations that occurred within the 12 months prior to school entry also meet this requirement.

Parent information meetings will be held at each district elementary school on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. Enrollment packets will be available at the parent information meetings, at school offices beginning February 19, 2010 and may be downloaded and printed from the following list of forms.
