Paradise Unified School District uses the NetTrekker service to make
using the web safe and educational for our students. The NetTrekker
search engine organizes resources by readability level, so that results
are age and grade-level appropriate.

NetTrekker is FREE for students and parents to use at home. Subscriptions are paid for by Paradise USD.
NetTrekker is an award-winning academic search engine that's safe, fast and easy to use for students and parents.
Features include:
- Grade Level Tabs -- Open the home page for each grade level
- Keyword Search -- Enter a keyword or phrase.
- Search Views -- Quickly search for websites, famous people, and images.
- Subject Search -- Drill down through the curriculum areas and subtopics.
- Current Events Search -- Link to major newspapers, magazines and other news media sources.
- Read Aloud -- Provides text-to-speech support for highlighted text on pages, search results and dictionary definitions.
- Timeline -- Include events famous people, arts and innovations across a time span or era.
- Famous Person -- Search for an individual or create a list based on criteria you choose.
- Image Search -- Search for safe, school-friendly images to use in multimedia projects or classroom presentations.
- References -- Gain access to reference tools useful in conducting research.

Each student who wants to use the web at school must have a NetTrekker account. Parents may also register for an account to use at home.
To Register:
1. Go to http://school.nettrekker.com/frontdoor
2. At the login area of the window, click Register.
3. Type in a Username (first last name, no spaces, no caps, i.e.,
jimclark). Next choose a Password, choose a question from the choices,
and answer the question. Click Next.
4. At the next window, choose CA from the dropdown menu, and type the first name of your school. Click Next.
5. Lastly, you will see a dropdown list of schools. Choose your school
and click Done. You are on the home page for your new account.
