After School Care (ASC)

After School Care (ASC)

Ponderosa Elementary offers a fee-based After School Care Program in addition to our all-day kindergarten classes and after school for first grade.

After School Care is available for kindergartners through 1st graders needing care for the rest of the school day until 6:00 P.M. ASC complements our school program and is consistent with the guidelines of a developmentally appropriate curriculum.

ASC includes a balance of activities as well as structured and unstructured projects. Children experience literature, dramatic play, the visual arts, music, large and small motor games and the support to practice social skills. Qualified staff provide a child-centered early childhood program with a 1-to-15 teacher/child ratio.

ASC provides part time (five days per week until 6:00 PM)

Purpose and Mission

After School Care (ASC) recognizes that play is the primary learning medium of childhood. ASC offers age appropriate, appealing, and challenging activities to support the growth and development of the whole child. ASC provides high quality, developmentally appropriate, on-site care in an enriching, safe, and nurturing environment.

Ponderosa ASC is an inclusive, optional, fee-based Paradise Unified School District program offering an extended day class experience for TK, kindergarten, and first graders enrolled in our school.
